It's been a busy July so far!

Taylor came out for a week of tennis camp, and Pat, Maddi and Scott joined us over the 4th. Then they left when we had other company arriving on Saturday.

Saturday, 07-07-07, was the day to celebrate my 7oth birthday. Hugh put on a hot dog fest.

Well, I helped to get together all the fixin's for the hot dogs, but Hugh did the cooking.

And here I am, all 70 years and a few pounds of me. See all that muscle around my middle?

Muscle is good, when it comes to digging in this stony dirt around here.

And muscle really helps when you are moving and arranging all these rocks.

Carolyn and Jim brought us a squirrel-proof bird-feeder. Now, we have discovered that we need a raccoon-proof feeder!

Here's how an almost 70-year-old stays healthy

It requires a pick ax and the side of a rocky mountain, and lugging big rocks from wherever you find them. Then, you lug bags of topsoil and mix it in, then stick some plants in the ground, and then carry a few 25lb bags of mulch from the other side of the yard . . . . .
It all helps you sleep well at night, and improves your tennis game.

The next day, you try a different exercise, but on the same rocky mountain soil.

The next day, if you're wise, you hire a landscaper.

I forgot to include the kitchen!

Here is the kitchen, and I love it!

And we had a major accomplishment over the weekend

Maybe by winter there will be room for my car, too.

Latest photos — we get more and more settled every day

We have a REAL occupancy permit! And boxes everywhere!

The inside photos will come later, when we have emptied more of the boxes!

And here we are

We have a "temporary" occupancy permit, which means we can actually live in the house, but the garage is not yet finished, and the outside of the house is not painted, guttered, etc. This allows us to get a lot of our stuff out of the old house and keep it "staged" for potential buyers.
And as luck would have it, the new furniture that we ordered for the living room was delivered on the same day that we had occupancy. We think it looks wonderful, if maybe a little bare!

Occupancy is imminent!

Here is Hugh's favorite spot

and I guess the laundry room and kitchen will be my favorites
