(note from Susan, Diane's middle daughter)
We have reached an agreement with the sellers of the farm we wanted (the original one we sent pictures of) and we will be closing April 12!! We are soooo excited!! We'll send more pictures soon, but it is totally a dream come true. I'm now shopping online for horses, Patricia, any suggestions would be appreciated. Mike and I will both be keeping our current jobs, we'll only be thirty minutes or so further west, and we both agree it is worth the extra time on the road to have a gorgeous farm in the country. My job is only 3 12 hour shifts a week, plus whatever I pick up at Dr. Mera's, which I'll probably be cutting back on. Might look at an extra couple shifts at a hospital in Washington, Mo, only 15 minutes from St. Clair, depending on the money situation. RNs can get jobs anywhere. Also depending a lot on how much work I'll have on the farm! Several friends have expressed interest in boarding horses with us, but I don't know how serious they are.
This land has 10 acres of pasture and 17 of woods and backs up to a 120 acre "hunting ranch" that the owners only use during rifle season. The current owners say that those people allow them to ride back there and you can go all the way to the Meramec river (only 300 yards from our property anyway.) How cool will that be?
